AtelierStrange was founded by James Hilton. James co-founded the ideas and technology company AKQA when he was twenty one and creatively led the agency for over twenty years.

During this time, James collected a multitude of global awards, including Grand Prix and Gold Cannes Lions, recognising work produced for brands such as Nike, Heineken, Dyson, Fiat, Warner Brothers, BMW, Virgin, Google and Xbox.

In 2010, James was appointed into the Creativity 50, a list of the world’s fifty most influential and inspiring creative personalities. He has been named by Campaign magazine as the UK’s number one digital Creative Director for three consecutive years.

James continues to be ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED SPEAKERS ON THE SUBJECTS OF CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION. As well as headlining major international conferences such as TEDx and Cannes Festival of Creativity, he also gives more intimate talks within brands to help bring insight and inspiration to their teams. Previous events have been held at Google, Ford Motor Company and Unilever.

He has lectured at the worlds leading creative learning centres including Oxford University, St. Andrews University, University of Arts London, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Miami Ad School Hamburg, Ravensbourne London and The Emily Carr School of Design in Vancouver. James is a visiting professor at Southampton Solent University.
